S'Loving: Giving love, getting smiles

Recently, Silk Path Grand Sapa Resort & Spa has organized the charity event "Giving Love, Getting Smiles" for 46 disadvantaged families in Toong Mong village, Thanh Binh commune, Sapa town, Lao Cai province.

In addition to the mission of promoting the development of tourism services, Silk Path Hotels & Resorts always aims to build sustainable relationships with the community and tighten the relationship between the people: One person for everyone, everyone for the collective, and the collective for the society.

As part of the charity program S'Loving - our annual social activities, on July 19, Silk Path Grand Sapa Resort & Spa organized a charity event of giving gifts to 46 disadvantaged families in Toong Mong village. Participating in the charity event were Ms. Bui Lan Anh - representative of the investor, Mr. Steve Tan – General Manager of Silk Path Grand Sapa Resort & Spa, and 26 staff members of the resort.

Toong Mong village in Thanh Binh commune, about 45km from Sapa town, has a total of 55 households, mainly Mong people. The economic conditions of households in Toong Mong village still face many difficulties; especially, the village doesn’t have electricity that is connected to the national grid. People in the area mainly make their electricity for lighting with batteries and use water to make electricity. Families with more wealth will buy small generators to use for daily activities.

The village also does not have a clean water system. The households there mainly draw underground water for their use. Therefore, when it rains, people do not have clean water for their daily activities. Through research, the village has 46/55 disadvantaged households, each household has about 5-6 people – with most of them being children, so the economic conditions are difficult. There is a shortage of clothes, shoes for the winter, and other necessities for everyday life.

Silk Path team hopes that small gifts from us will help the families in Toong Mong village!
