MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL NIGHT 2025
Celebrated across East Asia as a time for family reunions and thanksgiving, the Mid-Autumn Festival also holds a special place in Vietnamese culture. Marked by joyful gatherings, mooncakes, and lanterns, it symbolizes unity and the warmth of family bonds.

This year, the Mid-Autumn Festival Night 2025 in Sapa dazzles visitors with its grand scale and vibrant atmosphere. Highlights include colorful performances, a lantern contest, and the unmissable parade that draws thousands of spectators from Quan Stadium to central streets such as Fansipan, Thach Son, and Xuan Vien. Amid the resounding drumbeats, giant lanterns, traditional lion and dragon dancers, and beloved figures like Uncle Cuoi (“Chú Cuội”) and the Moon Lady (“Chị Hằng”) light up the town in a spectacular glow.
Mid-Autumn Festival Night 2025 will be held on October 4, 2025, at the Sapa Square in the center of Sa Pa town.
AUTUMN DESTINATIONS IN SAPA, VIETNAM
Beyond the festive spirit of Mid-Autumn, autumn in Sapa enchants visitors with destinations that each hold their own unique charm.
Fansipan Peak – Sun World Fansipan Legend
Located just 5km from the town center, Sun World Fansipan Legend invites travelers to admire the vibrant blooms atop Fansipan – from lavender gardens to rose valleys and carpets of verbena. Starting in town, the Muong Hoa mountain railway carries visitors across valleys and rolling hills to the resort, where the Fansipan cable car unveils a breathtaking journey over the Hoang Lien Son primeval forest, leading to the ‘Roof of Indochina’ and a sacred cultural-spiritual complex amidst the sea of clouds.

Silver Waterfall
Dubbed the violin of the mountains, Silver Waterfall (“Thác Bạc”) may lose its roaring flow in autumn, yet its white cascade still gleams against the Northwest sky. This is an ideal stop to breathe in the fresh air and listen to the murmuring stream, like a gentle symphony composed by nature itself.

O Quy Ho Heaven Gate
At an altitude of over 2,000 meters atop the Hoang Lien Son Pass, O Quy Ho Heaven Gate (“Cổng trời Ô Quy Hồ”) reveals the majestic panorama of the Northwest mountains. Winding slopes shrouded in clouds create a breathtaking scene that draws countless travelers and cements O Quy Ho’s reputation as one of Vietnam’s four great passes.
Note: For cloud hunting, visitors should head to O Quy Ho Heaven Gate early in the morning (5:00 – 6:30) or in the afternoon (15:00 – 16:00).
